Spotlight FAM Community Member: ToxiC55

ToxiC55, a 23-year-old streamer from Romania, embarked on his Web3 journey around a year and a half ago, almost by accident. He was initially hired by a team to stream Web3 games, despite having little knowledge about NFTs or cryptocurrencies beyond Bitcoin. He recalls, "I didn’t know anything about crypto, just Bitcoin, and I started streaming a game named ev.io for that team." It was through this experience that he discovered the potential to earn money while gaming, a realization that significantly changed his perspective. As he immersed himself in the ev.io community, he found out that he could make money by playing which soon led him to participate in tournaments. "I became a professional player and won tournaments and money that I later used on different projects, including Big Time," he shares, highlighting how his initial curiosity grew into a full-fledged involvement in Web3 gaming.

As he delved deeper into the Web3 space, the potential to earn income initially drew him in. "Not gonna lie, I’m always honest—first of all, it was the income possibility," he admits. However, as he gained more experience, his criteria for choosing games evolved. ToxiC55 began to prioritize gameplay and fun, seeking games that could hold his interest beyond just financial incentives. He emphasizes the importance of a balanced approach, stating, "Now, after I’ve evolved and gained more knowledge about crypto games, I’m looking for a game that is fun to play first, with at least decent gameplay that makes me want to play it not only for money." This shift from purely earning-driven gameplay to finding joy in the gaming experience itself marks a significant transformation in his approach to Web3 gaming.

A large part of ToxiC55’s learning and growth within Web3 gaming can be attributed to the supportive communities he encountered, particularly on Discord. "Discord is where I learned all my information about crypto, NFTs, P2E games, and everything," he says, underscoring the platform’s pivotal role in his education. The welcoming nature of these communities stood out to him, as there was always someone willing to help or answer his questions. His early days were spent in the Eternity Clan, a Discord group focused on ev.io, where he was able to ask numerous questions and receive patient, detailed answers. "I have destroyed their minds with all of my questions, but they always answered and explained to me as the noob I was back then," he recalls with a sense of gratitude. This foundational support was further bolstered by his involvement with FAM Guild, where he started as a streamer and later became a regular on FAM TV, expanding his knowledge and connections within Web3 gaming.

One of the most significant turning points in ToxiC55’s journey was his experience with Big Time. Initially, his involvement with the game was fraught with challenges. "At the start, I lost some money and time because of bad investments," he candidly admits. However, these setbacks became invaluable lessons that fueled his growth. Learning from his mistakes, he began to approach investments in NFTs and Web3 games with more caution and strategic planning. This evolution in his mindset eventually led him to make better decisions, not just in gaming but also in his overall approach to Web3. A testament to his newfound confidence in the space came just two months ago when he decided to quit his traditional job to fully embrace the opportunities within Web3. "Now, two months ago, I finally quit my Web2 job—not because of a game, but because of the endless opportunities that are on Web3," he shares, reflecting his readiness to take risks and explore the vast potential of this new frontier.

In addition to gaming, ToxiC55 has become an active content creator and community member within Web3. His involvement extends beyond just playing games; he participates in early access events, game nights, and content creator tournaments, which have connected him with prominent figures on platforms like Twitter. "I am a gamer/streamer and content creator for different projects on Twitter," he says, describing his multifaceted role in the community. These experiences have not only enhanced his presence in the Web3 space but also led to new opportunities, including a job as a Community Manager—a role he earned through his active participation in the ecosystem. "I started having a Web3 job as a Community Manager from one of those tournaments," he notes, underscoring how his proactive engagement has opened doors to new possibilities.

One of the most impactful experiences for ToxiC55 in Web3 gaming has been his involvement with the game ev.io and its community. While the game itself may not be as popular now, the relationships he built there have had a lasting impact on his life. "The community I found in ev.io changed my life," he reflects, emphasizing how these connections introduced him to other significant projects like Big Time. Although many of his friends were hesitant to join Big Time due to its entry price, ToxiC55 ventured forth on his own, beginning a new chapter in his Web3 journey. Looking ahead, he is excited about the future of Web3 gaming, particularly the potential for more stable Play-to-Earn mechanics and the growing trend of game nights. He remains open to new developments, eagerly anticipating the next big innovation that could shape the industry.

Balancing his passion for gaming with other aspects of life has been one of the more challenging aspects of ToxiC55’s journey. As someone deeply involved in streaming, content creation, and community management, finding time for other activities has become increasingly difficult. "I stream, play P2E games, create content on Twitter for projects, and work as a community manager, and all of those take time!" he says, highlighting the demands of his various roles. Despite these challenges, he makes a conscious effort to carve out time for relaxation and personal life, particularly on weekends. "I try to give myself at least one or two days off each week to chill with my girlfriend," he shares, acknowledging the importance of maintaining a balance between his gaming pursuits and his personal life. Additionally, he enjoys working out, though he admits that finding time for exercise has become more challenging as his involvement in Web3 gaming has intensified. Looking to the future, ToxiC55 hopes to create a better schedule that allows him to maintain both his physical health and his passion for gaming.
